Supervision for Spiritual Directors Covenant

Spiritual direction supervision is a professional process supporting the ongoing growth and development of spiritual directors. Supervision provides spiritual directors with a safe and supportive environment for exploring their experiences with directees. The process aims to develop awareness of the self, of the needs of the directee and of the presence and action of the sacred in spiritual direction. Supervision may integrate self-reflection, consultation, and education, all with the goal of affirming and helping the supervisee to become a more skilled and grounded spiritual director.

Our conversations are always confidential; however, for my professional growth I ask permission to share pieces of information with my supervisor without using your name. As you know as a spiritual director, it is customary for supervisors to be under direction and supervision as part of our commitment to improving our ministries. I, too, regularly receive spiritual direction and supervision.

Sessions will last one hour and will meet according to the schedule we agree upon, usually monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly. Unless otherwise agreed to, I will always protect one hour from the session’s scheduled start time; you may choose to use the whole hour or not. Please send your supervision form to maggie@ravach.org at least three days prior to our appointment. If a session date and time must be changed, please provide at least 48-hours’ notice via email or phone (emergencies not withstanding), and reschedule promptly.

If you need to reschedule, please let me know at least one day in advance. The cost for each session is $80, unless otherwise discussed. You can Venmo me @meschloss, Zelle at ravachministries@gmail.com, or send a check to PO Box 931861, Norcross, Georgia, 30003.

Note: State law requires spiritual directors to report suspected cases of child or elder abuse, and professional ethics regarding confidentiality do not apply to self-endangerment {suicide} or harm to others.
